When buying Booties, here are a few things to consider before doling out the cash…
Purpose
What are you buying the Booties for and how do you plan on wearing them? Are you looking for something trendy or classic? Do you have a particular outfit in mind or are they meant to go with a variety of looks?
When purchasing Booties, or any type of footwear, consider the purpose and function before heading out to the shops. That way you won’t get swayed off course by the first pair that you absolutely MUST HAVE. Unless, of course, you absolutely must have them.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Take a good long look at the Bootie before you buy. If you plan on wearing them in the rain or snow, make sure they can withstand the elements. If you plan on keeping them for some time, consider the quality of the manufacturing.
Do they have a leather sole that might wear poorly in the rain or become slippery on the ice? Are they well constructed or haphazardly glued in place? Take a look at what they’re made of and how they’re made and think about how they’ll hold up over time.
Style
Booties come in a variety of styles. Do you know which one is right for you?
Some Booties have a tendency to shorten the leg and some can help elongate the leg. The height of the heel, the colour and the cut all have an effect on your overall appearance. If you’re unsure, try on a few different styles to see which one is best suited to you.
If you have a certain outfit in mind, consider the Booties in relationship to the look you’re considering. Will they complement it or compete with it? Will they add interest to your outfit or distract and detract from it? Take into account what the Booties do to the look you’re trying to achieve.
If you’re a long time fan, then you know that Booties can be a fun and practical addition to any closet. If you’re new to them, why not give ‘em a try. You might just find that this type of Bootie Call is one that you could look forward to.
